USE OF SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT SAVES 814,378 KG CO2 ANNUALLY
At TKF we are committed to a greener future, and we look ahead to develop solutions that contribute to making the industry more sustainable. We achieve this by using raw materials more efficiently, reducing, and reusing waste, and recycling valuable raw materials. But sustainability goes beyond material choices and recycling. Since 2021, we have been using trucks that run on HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) for all our cable transport within the Netherlands. In 2022 we have saved no less than 814,378 kg of CO2, comparable to about 6,515 flights from Amsterdam to Paris! In addition, the cranes on our trucks also run on HVO fuel and electric truck-mounted forklifts are used.
In the Netherlands not only our external transport is sustainable, but our internal forklift transport is also fully electric. We have created a charging station for these forklift trucks on our site, where we use 100% green electricity.
And there is more good news. In collaboration with our transport partner BrinkXL, we are taking major steps towards electric transport. Our first electric truck and box truck are on order, further strengthening our commitment to sustainable mobility in 2024.
